As the HealthCare Battle Comes to a Head, Emanuel Strategy Comes Back to Haunt Him, and the President
In the 2006 Congressional elections, Rahm Emanuel, as Chairman of the Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee helped the Democratic party retake the House by capitalizing on anger in the Republican base and putting forth a large number of conservative “blue dog” Democrats. At the time it was a brilliant strategy, but if President Obama wants to know why he’s having so much trouble getting his agenda passed despite majorities in Congress, he need look no further than his Chief of Staff.
Those conservative Democrats who won back the house in ’06 are the same one who are causing problems for the President as he tries to reform take over healthcare.
Doing a heck of a job, Rahmy!
